The Oster A-5 Size 3 Skip Tooth is a detachable grooming blade for curly-coated dogs and thick, fluffy coats. It leaves a nominal 1/2 inch, approximately 13 mm, of hair, making it an option when the grooming plan calls for substantial coat length to remain.

The skip-tooth arrangement gives dense coat space to enter the cutting area. Oster identifies this tooth pattern for moving through fluffy hair without pressing the coat flat. Select the skip-tooth version by its full size designation so it matches the cutting technique you intend to use.

High-carbon steel forms the blade's cutting structure. Oster hardens the steel to RC62-66 before cryogenic treatment, then sharpens and finishes the cutting surfaces. The removable blade assembly fits the Oster A5 system, allowing a compatible clipper to change cutting lengths as the groom progresses.

For routine upkeep, clear collected hair and apply blade lubricant between uses. Follow the clipper's instructions when detaching or refitting the assembly, and keep the size and product number available when replacing the blade.
