The Aesculap GT173 is a single 13 mm stainless steel clip-on comb for compatible Favorita blade sets. It is a length-control accessory for groomers using the Favorita system, giving a longer grooming option while retaining the cutting blade underneath.

The flexible stainless steel attachment clips onto blade sets GH700, GT736, GT746 and GT710. Its design allows it to be fitted and exchanged quickly when a different comb height is needed. Aesculap describes the Favorita comb range as suitable for controlled work on fine to medium coats.

When planning the finished length, add the cutting length of the blade to the 13 mm comb height. With the verified 1.8 mm GT710 blade, the manufacturer's method gives a nominal combined cutting length of 14.8 mm. The 13 mm marking therefore identifies the comb height, rather than the complete blade-and-comb result.
