The comb fits Favorita blade sets GH700, GT736, GT746 and GT710. Flexible stainless steel teeth guide the coat toward the blade, while the clip-on design makes attachment changes straightforward. The manufacturer identifies fine to medium coats as an application for this range.

Choose the finished length using both the comb and the blade. Aesculap's method adds the blade's cutting length to the attachment height; pairing GT174 with a 1.8 mm GT710 blade therefore gives a nominal combined length of 17.8 mm. A different compatible blade changes that total, even though the same 16 mm comb is fitted.

GT174 sits between the 13 mm and 19 mm attachments in the Favorita range. It can be selected individually when that intermediate height is needed, without choosing the complete five-comb set.
