The Oster 83AU is a replacement top blade for Clipmaster clipping equipment. It is the upper cutting component of the blade assembly and works with a separate lower blade. Owners maintaining a Clipmaster can use the 83AU model designation to identify the correct top-blade replacement.

Oster uses fine-grain carbon steel, heat treatment and its Cryogen-X process to develop a hard cutting surface with resistance to wear. The blade is hand lapped during finishing. These manufacturing steps support the cutting edge used throughout repeated clipping sessions.

When installing a replacement, follow the Clipmaster manual's blade-positioning and tension procedure. The upper and lower blades must be aligned correctly before use; adjusting the tension cannot compensate indefinitely for a dull cutting edge. Oster directs sharpening to a service center when the blades require it.

Apply oil before clipping and repeat lubrication every ten minutes during operation, following the manual's indicated oil points. Clear accumulated hair between uses and check the condition of both blades as part of regular maintenance.
