The Andis ProClip Ion 20640 is a small cord/cordless pet trimmer for finishing around the face, ears and tail. Its lightweight body weighs 4.8 oz and measures 6.25 × 1 × 1.25 inches, giving groomers a compact tool for touch-ups and detail work. The rotary motor runs at 6,000 strokes per minute, and Andis describes the trimmer as quiet during operation.

The lithium-ion battery provides up to two hours of cordless runtime. If the battery runs down during a trimming session, the supplied adapter cord can be connected to continue working. Charging takes place with the switch off; the battery does not recharge while the trimmer is running from the cord. The BTF3 manual specifies a two-hour initial charge before first use.

Four attachment combs provide additional cutting-length choices. To fit a guide, position it over the blade teeth and secure it at the back of the blade as shown in the instructions. This lets you choose an attachment for the amount of coat you want to leave during finishing work. The package also lists a charger, blade guard, cleaning brush and blade oil.

After trimming, switch the tool off, remove the comb and brush loose hair from the blade. Lubricate the blade before, during and after use, wiping away excess oil with a soft dry cloth. The motor bearings are permanently lubricated and do not need additional oil.

For storage, keep the trimmer in a cool, dry location and avoid winding the adapter cable tightly around its body. Use the matching BTF3 supply specified by Andis for charging and corded operation.
