The Andis 20659 blade drive assembly is a replacement service part for compatible Andis clippers. It helps maintain the blade movement needed for consistent cutting and is intended for owners or technicians replacing a worn drive during routine clipper maintenance.

A blade drive wears with use. Increased vibration or noise, dragging during clipping, or an unsatisfactory cut even with a sharp replacement blade can be reasons to inspect this component. Replacing a worn drive addresses the movement behind the blade, so it can be an important maintenance step when changing the cutting blade alone has not resolved the problem.

Andis lists compatibility across the model families shown in the specifications. Check the model code on the clipper and the service instructions before selecting the part. The assembly is supplied as the replacement drive component.

The manufacturer's maintenance guide describes accessing the drive after switching the clipper off, removing the detachable blade and taking off the drive cover. The retaining screws are then removed so the old assembly can be exchanged. Follow the instructions for the particular clipper when reassembling it.

Inspect the drive as part of your regular maintenance schedule. Andis's earlier guidance suggests replacement intervals of roughly 30–60 days for working grooming tools, adjusted to the volume of clipping and the condition of the part.
