The Aesculap GT503 is a 17-tooth top blade for the Econom clipping system. It works in the GT367 head with a separate lower comb. The manufacturer recommends its pairing with the GT504 for cattle and fine-wool sheep; that 18-tooth lower comb establishes a 3 mm cutting length.

This combination is also supplied on the GT475 Econom II configuration, which Aesculap identifies for dirty cattle, including tail and udder work. Choosing both cutter and comb by their part numbers helps preserve the intended tooth arrangement when renewing a worn cutting assembly.

Carbon steel construction, vacuum hardening and a resistant surface coating support the cutter's working life. The cutting surfaces can be reground as needed. Keep the assembly clean and lubricated, and use the machine's blade-pressure procedure whenever the top blade is replaced.
