The Andis 74045 fade blade is a carbon-steel replacement for the Master Cordless Li clipper, model MLC. It is intended for barbers creating close fades, blending short transitions and refining detail work. Its adjustable size range runs from 00000 to 000, with a manufacturer-stated cutting length of 0.2 to 0.5 mm, or 1/125 to 1/50 inch.

The carbon-steel cutting components are designed to retain a sharp working edge through regular use. Once installed, the blade works with the Master Cordless adjustment lever, allowing changes within this close-cutting range during the haircut. Andis manufactures the blade in the USA using domestic and foreign parts.

Install it with the clipper switched off and disconnected, following the MLC manual's blade alignment instructions. The moving cutter must stay behind the stationary blade's edge. Brush out collected hair and apply clipper oil throughout the cutting session and afterward. Remove excess oil with a dry cloth, and replace a nicked or broken blade before further use.
