The Aesculap GT501 is a 15-tooth upper cutter for the Econom large-animal clipping system. It is the replacement top blade used in the standard GT474 horse-and-cattle setup, paired with a GT502 lower comb. That documented combination produces a 3 mm cut.

The cutter is made from wear-resistant carbon steel, vacuum hardened and finished with a protective surface coating. Its cutting surfaces can be resharpened, allowing a serviceable blade to return to use after its edge becomes dull.

GT501 fits the Aesculap GT367 cutting head. When ordering, distinguish the upper cutter from the separate comb, which determines the specified cutting height of the chosen pairing. Follow the machine's alignment and pressure instructions after fitting the blade. Overtightening the cutting plates increases heat and wear, so correct adjustment is part of blade care.
