The Lister CA2/AC Coarse blade set is designed for clipping demanding coats, including dirty or muddy animals. Its 18-tooth design has wider spacing than Lister's 35-tooth grooming blades, giving thick coat more room to enter the cutting area. The blade leaves 2.5 mm of hair and measures 75 mm wide.

For horses with particularly thick, coarse coats, Lister recommends the CA2 as the first blade through the coat. A later pass with a medium or fine blade can refine the finish if needed. That sequence makes the coarse blade useful for initial coat removal as part of a broader grooming routine. Lister also identifies alpacas, cattle and pigs as suitable applications.

One blade set is included, with manufacturer-listed compatibility for Eclipse, Star, Liberty, Legend and Fusion clippers. Prepare the coat before clipping and keep the blade sharp. During use, clear trapped hair before oiling and lubricate every five to ten minutes. Clean, oil and dry-store the blades afterward.
