The Aesculap Econom NOVA CL GT684 is a cordless shearing machine for sheep and selected cattle-shearing tasks. It comes with the NOVA cutter head, a four-tooth GT578 upper cutter and a 13-tooth GT598 lower comb for a 3.5 mm cutting length. The blue machine is supplied with one rechargeable battery.

A brushless EC motor drives the cutting system through spur gearing at approximately 2,700 strokes per minute. Electronic control adjusts the power delivered as resistance at the drive changes, helping the machine respond to changing cutting demands. The motor was developed and manufactured in Germany. A recessed electronic push button reduces the chance of switching the machine inadvertently while it is being handled, and the balanced layout supports controlled movement during shearing.

The current GT684 set uses a GT831 lithium-ion battery rated at 3,350 mAh. Aesculap specifies approximately 70 minutes of operation and an 80-minute charging time. The supplied GT833 charging station is the EU version. The machine weighs 1,470 g with its battery and blade set fitted, and its stated sound pressure level is 72 dB.

The set includes the clipper, battery, charging station, GT578 cutter, GT598 comb, GT604 lubricating oil, instructions and a plastic carrying case. The NOVA head accepts the specified GT598 blade arrangement; the manufacturer's manual also identifies GT594 as an alternative lower comb for this head.

Routine care includes keeping the cutting plates oiled and clearing the head and air filter of accumulated material. Remove the battery before blade changes or cleaning, and follow the manual for blade alignment, tension and gear lubrication. This keeps servicing tied to the correct head and blade arrangement.
