Aesculap Econom Shearing Blade Set GT517, 3 mm (GT517)

The Aesculap GT517 Econom shearing blade set combines a 15-tooth GT501 upper cutter with a 31-tooth GT502 lower comb. It produces the manufacturer's specified 3 mm standard cut for cattle and horses and is classified as a finely serrated pairing.

The complete set identifies both working components in one model reference. This is useful when replacing a cutter and comb together or restoring the same blade combination after servicing. Check the individual component references as well as the tooth counts when matching existing blades.

Aesculap uses carbon steel, a wear-resistant surface coating and vacuum hardening for the Econom blade range. The components are CNC machined, and their cutting surfaces are designed to allow repeated professional regrinding. The set can therefore be serviced when the edges become dull, without relying on a promised number of sharpenings.

Correct blade fitting and pressure adjustment remain important. Clear accumulated hair from the head and blade surfaces, then fit and adjust the pair according to the machine instructions. Apply clipper oil before and during work, and store the cleaned blades dry with an oil coating. GT517 provides the specific 3 mm, 15/31 tooth combination when that standard cattle-and-horse setup is required.
