The Heiniger 31F Bottom Blade is a fine lower blade for horse clipping when a remaining coat length of 1–2 mm is required. Identified by manufacturer part number 703-320, it forms the lower component of Heiniger’s 31F/15 and 31F/23 combinations. The fine designation and stated cutting range help you select the blade to suit the finish you want to leave on the coat.

For the complete cutting pair, Heiniger specifies either top blade 15, part 703-200, or top blade 23, part 703-220. Match the upper blade to the combination you use before replacing the bottom component. The individual 31F bottom blade and the complete blade sets carry different part numbers.

During clipping, the lower blade remains stationary as the upper cutter travels across it. Fit and align the blades according to your clipper’s instructions, then maintain the required lubrication and blade pressure. Remove trapped hair during cleaning and oil the working surfaces as directed. Professional sharpening can be considered when the cutting edges become dull.
