Aesculap SnapOn Blade Set GT397, Size 30 Wide (0.5 mm) (GT397)

The Aesculap GT397 is a size 30 wide SnapOn blade set for animal grooming with a compatible detachable-blade clipper. It combines a 0.5 mm cutting length with a 60 mm cutting width, giving a close-cutting option across a broader working edge than the standard 40 mm size 30 blade.

Made from carbon steel in Suhl, Germany, the blade set uses precision-ground cutting surfaces and a finished tooth profile to support an even cut. The SnapOn fitting allows the complete head to be exchanged without tools, so the blade can be selected for the length and working width needed for the task.

GT397 is also one of the three wide heads specified for Aesculap's GTA144, GTA145 and GTA146 stainless steel attachment combs. Those separate accessories provide 13, 16 and 19 mm comb options. Match both the head reference and the attachment when assembling a wide-comb grooming setup.

Regular blade care remains important with carbon steel. Aesculap recommends removing trapped hair, lubricating before and during work, and storing blades dry and oiled. The cutting assembly is resharpenable; professional servicing is appropriate when its edge becomes dull. For routine SnapOn cleaning, follow the manufacturer's guidance without unscrewing the assembly.
